Hate is an American constant. The good news is we can do something about it. This publication provides a step-by-step process.
In 1999 I was asked to update this publication for SPLC. Nearly every major human rights group in the country was consulted for advice on dealing with hate crimes and events such as Klan parades. Their wisdom, along with SPLC’s longstanding legal and educational advice, led to ten steps outlined in this publication.
One million copies have been donated to community activists, public officials, members of Congress and the media.
The publication was updated and is available for free download here.
